I love that our organization combines a customer focus with the commitment to nurturing informed, disciplined minds in a healthy democracy. It is this unique combination that leads to the creation of schools that treat "kids" like customers and capable adults, schools that get the kinds of outcomes that are predictably stunning.

In a district I've been working with recently, I've been inspired by two things: First, the leadership consistency and the quantum growth in commitment of resources during challenging budgetary times point to the steadiness of the superintendent and leadership team and district's orientation to students, parents, and community. Second, this district has collaborated with us in thinking all things through and has devoted the trust, candor, energy, and persistence that are required to make a genuine partnership work.

BOB NOLTE works out of West Hartford, Connecticut, where he formerly served as division director of an educational service center. At the Schlechty Center, Bob led in the development of the school district profile, a tool used to assess the capacity of school districts to sustain change and manage by results. He has played a major role in the Standard-Bearer School District Project, and he has extensive experience working with school boards, superintendents, central office staff, faculties, and teacher leaders. Bob is known for his ability to get clients to focus on their customers, to separate “root” problems from symptoms, and to achieve desired results.
