Joanie Wimsatt Graphic Designer
I started working at the Center in 1991. I previously worked at a local middle school. I loved working with children at the school and I was a little hesitant to leave that job, but after I understood what the Center was all about, I quickly changed my mind. Indirectly I am helping to change the school experiences of thousands of children.
As a graphic designer I work with our senior associates to create the materials they use each day with teachers, principals, and district leaders. I enjoy the creative aspect of the work and collaborating with our team to design materials that will speak to different audiences. We consider everything a work in progress and revise our materials many times. Some people might be bothered by that, but I love it. It shows the great dedication and compassion of our entire staff. I am always inspired by the fact that everyone here works with such passion.
