Tena Lutz Conference Coordinator

Tena Lutz Portrait

I was involved with the Schlechty Center even before it was created. I met Phil in 1984 when I was an employee working in the area of personnel for a large public school district. I helped him prepare the papers that led to the creation of the Center. Being closely involved with Phil since the Center's infancy and watching it grow into what it is today has been a source of joy and gives me a sense of accomplishment. I know I make a difference and that makes a difference to me.

I have two major roles at the Center. First, as conference coordinator, I am able to do what I like best—communicate with people and build relationships between the Schlechty Center and hotels. Selecting sites, negotiating rates, and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for our participants at conferences could not be more rewarding. My other role involves arranging all of Phil's speaking engagements, writing contracts, and coordinating his flight arrangements and appointments. I enjoy what I do and value the people I meet.
