Leadership Academy (Naples, FL) 06.27.10 - 06.29.10
As always, the intent of the conference will be to give participants new ways to think about their own leadership and ways to work with their staff as principals and school leaders transforming schools to make engagement the focus. During the Leadership Academy, you will be assigned to a team in order to participate in a learning game, "Saving Public Education." The game will allow you to envision new possibilities for public education using Schelchty Center frameworks and major concepts.
What will participants learn?
Participants will explore systems thinking within a learning organization, apply new learning to their self-assessment of progress, and focus on next steps to move their school or district or both toward becoming a learning organization.
What will participants produce?
Participants will update their personal plan for leadership.
Who is the intended audience?
This academy is open to alumni of the Principals Academy, Teacher Leader Academy, or other district-based Schlechty Center leadership academy.
It is essential that educators register early for this Leadership Academy to receive information and readings necessary to prepare for a rich experience. It is also extremely important that participants make travel plans to remain through the close of the conference, 3:30 p.m. on June 29,2010.
Dates and Times: The Academy will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 27 and conclude by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29, 2010.
Registration Fee: $900 per participant. This price includes materials and conference meals.
Standard-Bearer School District: $800 per participant. This price includes materials and conference meals. Active Standard-Bearer School Districts have an option to use units to pay registration fees. Unit cost is a half unit per participant.
